*The Strand Hotel* *Molin filming sites. The Lars Molin Society shows you where it happened.* The State plays an important role in many of Lars Molin’s films. As Supervisor of Roads, Molin was a frequent guest at the City Hotel in Östhammar, where he was often seen on Sundays with his family. Hasselbacken was the natural location to celebrate with friends and neighbours on Saturday evenings. This was at the time when every city with any self-respect had its own City Hotel. Both the Strand Hotel and Hasselbacken are found in Badjävlar and Sommarmord. Other films where the City Hotel played a prominent role are Den tatuerade Änkan, Höjdhopparen, and Saxofon hallicken.
